China has offered its huge market for Indonesian fishery products and is willing to boost imports from Indonesia, Marine and Fishery Affairs Minister Edhy Prabowo stated.
"The ambassador of China has offered several things, including its huge market," Prabowo stated at the Aquatica Asia & Indoaqua 2019 Conference and Expo here on Thursday.

At a recent meeting with the minister, Chinese Ambassador Xiao Qian was filled with astonishment over Indonesia's huge potential of fishery products but had yet to become a major exporter of the products to China.
During the meeting held at the ministry on November 1, China expressed intent to deepen bilateral cooperation in the marine and fishery sector.
"Indonesia has a remarkable maritime territory and abundant resources. On the other hand, China has a huge market," Qian noted.
Qian affirmed that Indonesia is the seventh-largest exporter of fishery products to China. The country is also the largest trade partner to China.

The volume of bilateral trade was recorded at US$72.6 billion in 2018. Chinese investment in Indonesia during the corresponding period was clocked at $2.4 billion.
He affirmed that bilateral cooperation in marine and fishery affairs will further intensify bilateral relations.
China's annual imports of fishery products from various countries totaled four million, of which some 200 thousand tons came from Indonesia.
"Indonesia has remarkable room for cooperation. Through this cooperation in the marine and fishery sector, I believe that Indonesian fishery exports to China will reach an impressive amount," he added.
