To facilitate villagers in Kotabaru getting fuel (BBM) at the same price as people in the city a gas station was built in Buluh Kuning Village, Sungai Durian Sub-district.

Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar symbolically filled fuel to a resident's motorcycle to mark the inauguration of the gas station on Thursday (Oct 3, 2019), while some government agencies heads, the sub-district leaders communication forum (forkopimca), religious and community figures attended the ceremony. 

"We merely want to help residents to obtain fuel like urban people with the same price," the regent remarked.

The gas station development, he added, was in consideration of its strategic place and after Buluh kuning Village other gas stations will be built in Bungkukan, Sampanahan, and other places in Kotabaru in order people will enjoy the same facility as people in urban areas.

This is, he pointed out, a real form of the Kotabaru government to help its residents to increase their economy as there is no different price between urban and village.

Director of the Banian Gas Station Said Akhmad Bahasyim hoped the present of the facility in Buluh Kuning Village, Sungai Durian Sub-district, to be advanced and more busy then it will help to increase economy of the local people.

"God willing, economic activity of residents will be crowded around the gas station, because this is across Kalimantan and the place is also strategic," he hoped.

Beside officiating the gas station, the regent handed over some assistance for mosque, and hundreds of duck breed, animal feed and medicine for six villages in Sungai Durian.
