The high number of shooting enthusiasts joined in a number of clubs under the auspices of the Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Association (Perbakin) makes firearms permits issued by the South Kalimantan Regional Police quite a lot.


According to the Head of Administrative Service of South Kalimantan Regional Police's Directorate of Security Intelligence Comr Mohammad Fihim, there were between 100 to 150 residents who held firearms permits.

"The average permits here for sporting purposes, because there are quite a lot of hunting and shooting reactions clubs. There are even PON athletes who are members of Perbakin," he said in Banjarmasin on Thursday.

The firearms, he said, were not organic weapons of the army or police but specifically for martial arts, sports, to security guards and so on.

"We carry out strict supervision of in-organic firearm holders. All are incorporated in Perbakin, so there are containers no arbitrary weapons can be used by individuals," explained the middle officer who previously served as Head Operation of the Tapin District Police.

Likewise the the process of licensing of in-organic gun for civil society, Fihim made sure, anyone had to pass a psychological test, has a shot certificate and be physically fit and a clear plan regarding the use of gun.

On the other hand, services at the Directorate Security Intelligence continuously improved to provide comfort to the community. In addition to gun permits, there are a number of other licenses served, including commercial explosives, permits for notification of community activities and a police clearance letter (SKCK).
