Banjarmasin (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - South Kalimantan Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said the city of Banjarmasin experienced inflation at 0.04 percent in April 2013.
It was due to price increases indicated by the increase in the index for processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.51 percent, said the Head of BPS Iskandar Zulkarnain here on Wednesday.
An increase also happened in the index of housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.75 per cent, he added in a press conference at the BPS Office on Jalan KS Tubun (Pekauman) Banjarmasin.
Then, he said, the health group rose by 0.01 percent and education, recreation and sport as much as 0.40 percent.
While foodstuff deflation of 0.55 percent, 1.13 percent clothing, transportation, communication and financial services by 0.10 percent.
Ten major commodities that contributed most to inflation during April 2013 were onion, household fuel, sugar, papaya, oranges, spiced, red pepper, cayenne pepper, clove cigarette filter, long eggplant.
While the ten major commodities that inhibited inflation were garlic, fish cork, gold jewelry, chicken meat, anchovies telang (salted mackerel fish), spinach, trevally, mustard greens, gasoline, and bananas.
