South Kalimantan Wall Climbing Championship 27 to 30 June 2019 in Tanah Laut Regency was a venue for fighting the ability of local athletes to advance to the national level.
In this selection event, athletes from Tabalong Regency won four gold medals, five silver medals and five bronze medals.
Chairman of the Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation (FPTI) for Tabalong Muhammad Zainaini said this achievement smoothed out 7 athletes of Bumi Saraba Kawa (nickname of Tabalong) to participate in the 14 age group wall climbing championship.
"It is enough to boast seven Tabalong athletes who can pass the rock climbing National Championship selection group," Zainaini explained.
Four gold medals won by Miratil Bunga Hayati in the category of Women's Lead Youth C, Noval Akbar Febian in the category of Men's Lead Youth C, Zaskia As Zahra in the category of Women's Lead Youth D and Muhammad Yusuf in the category of Men's Lead Junior.
The silver medal was won by Putri Maiza Azzura in the category of Women's Lead Youth C, Nasvi As Sabiq in the category of Men's Lead Youth A, Muhammad Yusuf in the category of Men Boulder Junior and Mawardi won two silver in the Boulder Youth B Men category and Men's Lead Youth B.
Five bronze medals through Ghina Nur Asyifa in the category of Women Lead Junior, Arya Danuarta Wicaksono in the category of Men's Lead Youth C, Muhammad Rayyan Athaya in the category of Men Lead Youth D, Sri Wahyuni in the Senior Lead category for Women and Nasvi As Sabiq in the category Men Boulder Youth A.
Zainaini said that the National Championship will be held at the Pelaihari Wall Climbing Green Open Kijang Venue in Tanah Laut July 27 - August 4, 2019.
The plan is for 23 representative rock climbing athletes from all over South Kalimantan who are in the South Kalimantan FPTI team, including seven climbers from Tabalong, taking part.
Seven Tabalong climbing athletes who will advance to the national age group namely Nasvi As Sabiq, Muhammad Yusuf, Mawardi, Miratil Bunga Hayati, Putri Maiza Azzura, Zaskia As Zahra and Noval Akbar Febian.
