South Kalimantan Education Agency Head Yusuf Effendi said the discourse on zoning school teachers in the province is awaiting determination and technical guidance from the central government.

Yusuf here Sunday said that according to the provisions teacher zoning is aimed at equitable distribution of teachers in schools according to their zones.

If in one zone there is a school lacking of teachers, while other schools have excess teachers, then teachers in excess schools will be transferred to lacking schools.

"So the teacher regulation plan applies according to each school zone, there is no big shock," he said.

It is impossible, for example, teachers in Banjarmasin will be sent to the Kotabaru district and others, because it is already outside the zone.

At present, there are 5,300 high school (SMA), vocational (SMK), and school for the disabled  students (SLB) teachers. While honorary teachers reached 5,534 people.

"So the total number of high school, vocational and SLB teachers is about 10,834. This is in accordance with the number of schools in all districts and cities in South Kalimantan," he said.
