The of Kotabaru Manpower and Transmigration Office supervises payment of holiday allowances (THR) in around 56 companies.


Head of Kotabaru Manpower and Transmigration Agency Sugian Noor said on Monday the companies were engaged in various sectors, such as plantations, processing, mines industry, and services.

"We are more likely to oversee companies whose employees are numerous, strategic, and potentially have problems," he said.

Previously the companies were reminded of their obligations. In the letter, the agency also asked the companies to report if they have paid THR, or if they were unafford must also report and submit a request for a delay in payment.

"But there is no one who asks for a delay, there are ten companies reporting they have paid THR, some of which a week after fasting, two weeks, and a week before Eid," said Sugian.

It is still waiting for reports from dozens of other companies until after Eid. The report will then be forwarded in stages to the provinces before the Ministry of Manpower.

"Sanctions are there if you don't pay, but if you don't submit a report, we only appeal," he added.
