Rukyatul hilal or monitor the emergence of Syawal which determines the fall of Eid al-Fitr 1440 Hijriah in the city of Banjarmasin was constrained by thick clouds that obstruct the view with the monitoring binoculars.

Monitoring the hilal of the entry of Syawal was held by the South Kalimantan Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kanwil Kemenag Kalsel) at the top of the Bank Kalsel building, Monday afternoon.

According to head of the office H Noor Fahmi, he could not see the moon because of thick clouds blocking the west. "So that we hereby declare, we testify not to see the month of Syawal's entry on 29 Ramadan," he said.

Monitoring of the moon, he said, coincided at 18.18 central Indonesia time (WIT) at sunset.

Indeed, said Noor Fahmi, according to the calculation of the hisab (astronomic calculation) team of  Kanwil Kemenag, it was difficult to see the position of the moon in real terms. "The moon which is still under two degrees is difficult to witness," he said.

From the calculation of the azimuth of the moon its position is 289 degrees, 21 minutes 52 seconds (289 ° 21'52 "). He said, the sun-moon azimuth difference is less than two degrees, 55 minutes and 11 seconds (-2 ° 55'11").

"The essential height of the month is -0 degrees, 14 minutes and 31 seconds (-014'31"), where the current age is 00 hours 17 minutes," he explained.

With this calculation, said Noor Fahmi, it is likely that Idul Fitri 1440 H falls on Wednesday 5 June 2019.

"But the exact still have to wait for the decision of the Isbat (confirmation) court at the Ministry of Religious Affairs," he said.
