The Kotabaru DPRD hopes that the local government will validate the data of the poor who are entitled to receive various government assistance programs.

"Data validation is very important, in order the aid programs from the government can be targeted according to its designation," said Muhammad Arif, Deputy Chairperson of the Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) on the sidelines of a working visit at the Tanah Laut Social Agency on Saturday.

He said, in almost every area found, one of the problems in distributing various government programs was the inaccuracy of available data. That happened, he said, because of the interest factor of the people involved in it.

"Regarding aid programs from the government, many interests are riding starting from initial data collection at the neighborhood unit (RT), village, sub-district to district levels and so on," Arif said.

Therefore, this PPP politician stressed the need for validation of the database of those entitled to receive assistance.

"We (the legislature) will coordinate with the relevant agencies, especially regarding the re-registration and the necessary budget," said Arif.
