Amuntai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Abdul Wahid saw off hundreds of students of schools in the scope of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) who carried out the ta'aruf parade to welcome the arrival of Ramadan 1440 H for the purpose of syiar.


"Thank you to the HSU Ministry of Religious Affairs who traditionalized the ta'aruf parade to welcome Ramadan," Abdul Wahid said at Amuntai on Sunday.

Wahid said, the parade is not only a form of syiar (preach), but to strengthen the relationship and the treasures of Islamic culture also reminded people to get ready to welcome Ramadan.

According to him, the next syiar in Ramadan can be done by enlivening mosques and mushalla (smaller than mosques) with tadarus (reciting) activities of the Qur'an and majelis ta'lim (learning of Islamic science).

"We should fill the time during Ramadan with various acts of worship and dhikr," he said.

The Head of the HSU Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs H. Yusran explained that the ta'aruf parade always held every year to enliven and as an expression of gratitude for the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

"This is a symbol for Muslims so that we can improve, get ready in welcoming this holy month of Ramadan," he said.

The parade activities were attended by students, teachers and the ranks of the HSU Kemenag as well as officials or representatives of Forkopimda (regional leader communication forums) and officials of local government agencies, including members of the leadership and administrators of various women's organizations.

The ta'aruf parade route starting in front of the Kemenag office in the Sungai Malang Village towards the center of Amuntai City across Jalan Ahmad Yani.
