Hopefully the distribution channel will run smoothly and hopefully all supply of basic needs will be available, so that the prices will not increase and the goods needed by the people are available,
Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A few day before Ramadan 1440 hijri, Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina along with related agencies monitored the prices of basic necessities.

While the previous year the price monitoring in the traditional market was done before noon, then this year the monitoring was carried out early in the morning at around 07.00 when the market activity was so crowded.

As a result, some basic commodities, especially onions, are known to experience price increases. Prices of shallots and garlic rose from the previous range of IDR 30,000 to around IDR 40,000 per kg.

The mayor hoped all prices of basic necessities, both in the traditional market and in the modern market, will not increase before and during Ramadan.

"Hopefully the distribution channel will run smoothly and hopefully all supply of basic needs will be available, so that the prices will not increase and the goods needed by the people are available," he said, Tuesday (4/30).

According to the Special Staff of Trade Policy at the Ministry of Trade Radix Siswo, the shift in prices of basic necessities occurred in the meantime there was a supply gap caused by late deliveries.

However, he ensured the supply in the near future would be smooth and the price would return to normal.

"Indeed there is a slight shift in prices, because the goods are experiencing a vacuum. But for garlic it will come next week, so it is certain that next week the price will go down," he said.
