Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Tanah Bumbu District Government is now starting to initiate a greening program by planting trees along Madani Beach, Sungai Loban Sub-district.
Regent H. Sudian Noor through the Sungai Loban Sub-district Head Samsir in Batulicin said various tree species were planted along Madani Beach, such as acacia, pine, ketapang, and others.
"In the success of the program, the district government also involved all relevant agencies, such as the DPRD, PKK, muspika (the subdistrict leaders forum) and village officials to plant trees in each sub-district," he said.
He said the aim of this program is to maintain the surrounding environment to be truly beautiful, shady, and reduce global warming.
Especially on the beach, a few days ago a lot of pine trees were uprooted due to strong winds, so it was feared to reduce visitor interest.
"Come on, all levels of society care about the environment by planting trees in each house to help government programs," he said.
