"Launching the availability of medium rice and stability of the price in 2019 is carried out massively and simultaneously throughout Indonesia," said Head of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) Barabai Sub-division Rachmadi in the releasing event of rice distribution at Bulog warehouse in Matang Ginalon Village, Barabai, Thursday (1/3).
Five tons of rice were thrown to the market in two districts, HST and Tabalong, at a price of IDR 8,600 per kg. The highest current price (HET) is IDR 9,950. So prices in Banua Anam are considered stable, still below the HET.
"Our rice supply for Banua Anam is also still safe and sufficient for the next nine months," he said.
He explained, actually, the price of food here is safe, but nationally there is an increase and Bulog is ordered to conduct market operations to maintain the availability of medium rice in the community.
Acting Regent H A Chairansyah through District Secretary H Akhmad Tamzil expects the launch of rice at prices below HET can help the poor.
"However, this market operation needs to be monitored by the community until the program runs well and in accordance with the provisions and provides convenience to the community to obtain food in good quantity and quality," he said.
