Kotabaru's 2027 development planning focuses on investment, infrastructure

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru development planning meeting (Musrenbang) for the 2027 Regional Work Plan (RKPD) focused on strengthening investment and infrastructure.

Speaker of the Kotabaru DPRD Hj Suwanti said that this is a crucial forum to synergize people's aspiration and the regional development policy. To this end, the DPRD has compiled 2,831 proposed ideas covering various priority sectors.

“The proposals cover economy, human development, infrastructure and regional affairs which are expected to drive on target program,” she said here on Tuesday.

Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis emphasized that the development planning forum (Musrenbang RKPD) serves as a strategic platform to determine the direction of development next year. He underlined the importance role of investment in driving regional economic growth.

According to him, ease of licensing, legal certainty, and security guarantees are key factors in attracting investors.

"We must create a conducive investment climate to open up job opportunities and improve community welfare," he said.

Besides investment, infrastructure, particularly roads, are also a concern. with approximately 1,200 kilometers of the district roads, appropriate development priorities are needed to align with its budget.

In human resources sector, Deputy Regent highlighted stunting rate, which remain at 23.2 percent. He emphasized the need for cross-sector synergy in handling the issue.

Meanwhile, the 2027 Musrenbang RKPD was attended by about 170 participants from varus sectors, including DPRD, government officials, academics, business community, community organization, as well as women's and youth representatives.

As a token of appreciation, the local government also provided awards to the best performing sub-district in the 2026 sub-district development planniong meeting (musrenbang).

Pulau Laut Barat Sub-district won the first rank, followed by Kelumpang Tengah and Sampanahan.

This Musrenbang is expected to formulate more targeted and realistic development policies, that are able to address people's needs and accelerating development in Kotabaru.
