Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, is currently collaborating to implement intervention for productive poor to accelerate poverty alleviation through data synergy, expanding job opportunities, and economic empowerment.
Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis thanked and appreciated Assistant I for his innovation in intervening productive poor residents.
“This is a highly visionary innovation in developing one of programs in the Regent's and Deputy Regent's vision and mission to improve people's welfare and reducing poverty in Kotabaru,” he said here on Monday.

Based on the data from the South Kalimantan Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2025, poverty in Kotabaru has decreased from 4.45 percent in previous year to 4.39 percent in 2025.
“Alhamdulillah, this is the lowest rate. We must work together (to expedite the reduction), one of which is through today's visionary program,” he said.
According to him, the implementation cannot only be carried out by the local government, by requires collaboration from all relevant stakeholders, including business actors, academics and the community, to reducing poverty rates, reducing unemployment, towards a more prosperous society.
"This program is a very good breakthrough. Once again, I hope we really implement it, and next year at least 50 companies will join this program," he said.
Meanwhile, Assistant I for Government and Community Welfare H Minggu Basuki said this program's main focus is to help productive poor residents so that next year they will no longer be listed as poor but will be economically independent.

Today's program targeting villages in Kelumpang Hilir Sub-district: Langadai (4 people), Tegal Rejo (10 people), Tarjun (3 people), Sungai Taib (10 people), and Tirawan (10 people).
“Through approximately six-month intervention, we hope those included in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) will shift from being listed as poor to becoming prosperous, and this activity will continue and be beneficial," he said.
A joint commitment statement for the intervention was then signed by the Deputy Regent of Kotabaru, Assistant for Government and Social Welfare, PT Arutmin Indonesia NPLCT, PT Indocement Tunggal Prakasa Tarjun Unit, PT Guthrie Internasional Pulau Laur Refinery, and other companies.
