Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Kotabaru Naval Base, South Kalimantan, is improving the skill of search and rescue operations (SAR) in disaster management in the region.
Kotabaru Naval Base Commander Lt.Col.(P) Guruh Dwi Yudhanto S. S.T, in Kotabaru on Wednesday, said the capacity building was through classroom theory training, partial training, and wet drill.
"The training was held for three days involving the Navy, the National SAR Agency (Basarnas), and the Kotabaru Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD)," he said.

The training was intended to improve the ability and preparedness in natural disaster management and mitigation.
It was also aimed to test the Contingency Action Plan (Rentinkon) and Unit Operational Plan (RO) in the assistance of the Navy to regional governments in the context of natural disaster management in the Kotabaru area.
