Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan 3/5 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin City Police Chief Senior Commissioner (Kombes) Anjar Wicaksana Sik acknowledged that drug abuse in his jurisdiction has been so severe that the handling must be done with extraordinary steps.
"If we look at the percentage of cases we have handled over the past month alone, the number of drugs cases is more than 30, not to mention the abuse of illegal (G-class) drugs, which means that every day there is always an arrest," he said when attending a ceremony at the Banjarmasin DPRD on Wednesday.
He stated that the police not only make arrests, but also socializing the dangers of drugs, so that efforts have been maximized.
According to Anjar, the severe abuse of G-class drug type of zenith (carnophen) is rampant. It in pressing needs to be put out, where the city government should involve.
He also supported the plan of the city government to form a regional regulation (Perda) about the abuse of zenith, of course, to increase its eradication power.
"Because the zenith case handling can only be subjected to health laws. The legal sanction is very light, so the effect can not be maximal," he explained.
So far, Anjar said, the police can only take action based on the law, can not impose severe legal sanctions, but actually want to eradicate it to the maximum.
"However, as our task, the eradication of illegal drugs will continue to be done, especially the perpetrators and suppliers," said Anjar.
Member of DPRD Awan Subarkah said the handling of zenith drug abuse should continue to be done properly, because the condition is so severe that the students are also poisoned.
For DPRD, said this PKS politician, the making of local regulation on zenith will be pushed as soon as possible, let alone have been included in the regional legislation program this year.
