Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tapin will be included in the development project of railroad tracks planned by the central government through the Ministry of Transportation.
Head of Tapin Transportation Agency H Taher here on Tuesday (4/4) said several construction sites has been reviewed directly by the team of the Ministry of Transportation at the end of 2016.
Taher explained the rail lines going to cross several sub-districts, including the Lokpaikat in the Bataratat village, then the Bakarangan Sub-district through Bundung village, Ketapang, Gadung Keramat, Waringin, and Parigi.
While the rail line for the Sub-district of North Tapin includes the Village of Banua Hanyar, Antasari Hilir, then to the Sub-district of Central Tapin the rail will cross the village of Andika, Mandurian, Mandurian Hilir, and Labung.
Railroads also traverse Cempaka, Lawahan Rumintin and Tandui village in the sub-district of South Tapin, and for the Sub-district of Binuang it would cross the Pulau Pinang, Binuang A Yani Pura, Tungkap and Pualam Sari village.
"The Keraton Market will be the railway station in Tapin, Railroad will also cross the Tapin River," said Taher.
He added that railroad width is about 14.35 meters or wider than in Java. This is to maximize the speed of the train as far as 240 km/hour with load greater about 25 tons.
But for the train line that will cross state roads, as busy lines, flyovers is planned to be built with a width of 30 meters. As for the track that will pass through some of the river, permanent bridge will be built.
"The construction of this rail starting from Banjarmasin to the Tabalong, thus crossing Tapin. This is an effort of the central government to uniform in the transportation development," he explained.
Tanjung-Banjarmasin train will accelerate the journey from Banjarmasin to the Upper region. According to him, Banjarmasin-Tapin usually by car takes 3-hours, but by train probably only takes 45 minutes.
