Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Dam in the village of Pipitak Jaya with the natural beauty of Meratus mountains and its vast lake are considered to have potential interest for tourists.
"Pipitak dam in addition to potentially major tourist attractions can also be fishery area for the surrounding communities," said Tapin Vice Regent when opening a coordination meeting for the tourism potential in the district, Thursday (2/3).
The meeting held by of Tourism and Culture Agencywas attended by sub-district heads throughout Tapin district, villages' heads, and tour managers.
Tapin regency, he said, has drawn up several plans to develop the tourism sector, such as religious tourism, cultural tourism, nature tourism and ecotourism of bekantan (proboscis monkey) conservation in the village Lokbuntar, South Tapin.
"We want to have a concept of travel packages that can attract tourists to come here," he said.
He hopes this coordination meeting, related agencies can know what travel is really the potential to be developed that can mature designed.
