Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The challenging tracks of the 2024 Uncle Hard Enduro international dirt bike championship at Kiram Park, Banjar District, South Kalimantan, is 90 percent ready for riders, both national and international, to test.
Head of the South Kalimantan Youth and Sport Office's Achievement Development Heru Susmianto here on Friday (August 2, 2024) said international riders from 11 countries will take part.
“Uncle Hard Enduro is to promote international sports in South Kalimantan, especially Kiram Park that is prepared as the City of Enduro Indonesia,” he said.
In addition to promote the regional potentials, Uncle Hard Enduro is also held to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Independence Day and the 74th anniversary of South Kalimantan.
"This Enduro event uses grant funds and the organizer will be Indonesia Off-Road Federation (IOF),” he said.

Chairman of the 2024 Uncle Hard Enduro Organizing Committee M Dilah Yunani said the 11 participating countries included Indonesia, England, Mongolia, Iran, Spain, Georgia, Russia, Germany, United States, SouthAfrica, and Austria.
He said 60 foreign riders have been registered to participate in all classes, adding that the number possibly increasing. The event will take place on August 9-11.
Meanwhile, all accomodation and vehicles to be used by riders have also been prepared by the committee.
“The international legend rider Graham Jarvis will also take part in the 2024 Uncle Hard Enduro. We will announce the names of all riders at the press conference or one day before the event,” said Dilah.
He said the organizing committee is in the process of installing security in racing area so that spectators can weatch the competition safely.
“The regional government fully support this activity. We hope this event, which has been taking place for fourth time, will continue to become an annual event in South Kalimantan. Especially since this event have a impact on advancing the regional economy and tourism,” said Dilah.
