Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT Adaro Energy Indonesia through Adaro Nyalakan Raga (Adaro Ignites Wellbeing) pillar, carries out by Adaro Foundation (YABN), continues to collaborate with Tabalong District goverment in stunting handling acceleration until they reach zero cases.
One of the forms of collaboration was the Foster Fathers for Stunted Children (BAAS) Program that has proven to succeed in reducing stunting rate in Tabalong.
Section Head of YABN Deri Anggraeni said that Adaro Group collaborates with the government in the stunting handling program as well as it support toward the Golden Indonesia 2045.
"The collaboration that we carried out within a period of one year were able to reduce stunting and the results of intervention quite good," Deri expounded in Tabalong, Sunday.
With the intervention target of 1,102 toddlers and 55 pregnant women with Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) spread across 10 villages, the stunting prevalence rate in Tabalong in November 2023 has dropped to 13.85 percent compared to 19.7 percent in 2022.
In addition with the regional government, YABN also collaborates with LPK Medha Parahita Indonesia.
Not only in Tabalong, the collaboration was also held in a number of districts in Adaro's operational areas, namely in Lahat, South Sumatra, Balangan, South Kalimantan, and Murung Raya, Central Kalimantan.

Previously, tens of cadres attended BAAS evaluation and monitoring and cross-sector stakeholders meetings in the stunting reduction acceleration program in Tabalong 2023.
This included a team of sub-district facilitators who were active in stunting program in 10 targeted villages and urban villages, namely Mabuun, Pembataan, Banyu Tajun, Belimbing Raya, Bangkiling Raya, Muara Uya, Jangkung, Sulingan, Maburai and Lumbang.
One of stunting cadres Sri Wahyuni said she was happy to be able to play role in helping the government program to reduce stunting rate in Tabalong.
By becoming a cadre, she can broaden her knowledge and build relationship with the beneficiaries.
"As cadre we required to be good at communicating as well making an appropriate approach so that we can provide understanding and education to the community," said Sri.
Head of Tabalong Planning, Reseach, and Development Board (Bapedalitbang) Noor Rifani said the success in handling stunting has brought Tabalong to win the best in the assessment of performance in eight convergence actions to reduce stunting.
He hopes that children in Tabalong are prevented from stunting and grow up to be smart to have the same opportunity to face Golden Indonesia 2045.
