General Manager of PT Pelindo III Banjarmasin Hengki Jajang Herasmana here on Tuesday said the addition of eight RTG as efforts to improve services of Trisakti Banjarmasin Port.
In addition, said Hengki, this is to cope with the increasing economic growth in South Kalimantan, among others, by accelerating the flow of loading and unloading of goods.
Currently, there are 13 RTG in Trisakti, two of which are in maintenance. With the increasing of eight RTG, which will be sent from Semarang around July 2016, is expected to be able to accelerate the flow of container loading and unloading.
"Through the addition of eight RTGs, we hope to be able to reduce congestion at the port," he said.
The RTGs are also to complement and support the operation of the addition of four container cranes (CC) that have come before.
It is also an effort to anticipate an increase in the flow of goods that are expected to begin to happen before the fasting month of Ramadan in June 2016 and Idul Fitri.
According to Hengki, South Kalimantan economic estimated growth in 2016 will once again improved, as indicated by increasing investment, particularly in infrastructure development sectors.
Currently, the average current of loading and unloading at the Trisakti Port as many as 28 thousand to 30 thousand boxes per month, an increase of about four per cent compared to 2015.
