Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru assembly (DPRD) in their second hearing gave a time limit in less than a month to PT Arutmin Indonesia to resolve the status of the land inhabited by the Sebuli villagers, Sub-district of Central Kelumpang.
Deputy Chairman of the DPRD M Arif here on Monday said, there are three options for the settlement of the problems experienced by villagers since 2008, as the community demands certainty of their residence status (about 2 kilometers from Sebuli Village).
"First, PT Arutmin must immediately provide the status of relocation land granted to citizens. If it entered the forest area, then it should do a formal effort by involving related parties of which the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Land," he said.
However this option, according to most members of the assembly, very small posibilities, when referring to legislation about the governance of the region, so tight and long terms that must be taken.
Arif pointed out, when the government was about to construct the bridge connecting the Pulau Laut island to Tarjun (mainland Kalimantan). Since small part enter location of conservation areas, the development plans failed.
The next option, PT Arutmin have to relocate the villagers to new area that is not in protected forest areas or nature reserves. Simultaneously Arutmin also has to provide compensation for living expenses until they can live a decent life.
By moving to the new environment, then society certainly adapt to adjust to both the environment and new livelihoods.
"If both options are not affordable, then the representatives agreed to form a special committee to uncover the case by tracing the chronology from the beginning to the emergence of this problem," said Arif.
He added, it was not impossible this was due to unlawful acts by certain elements who take advantage so it appeared conspiracy in making policy, neither the company nor any other parties.
"The indications are clear, how can the company relocate residents shelter to protected forest areas which actually was not allowed," said Arif as he called to reveal it all need special care by representatives through their authorities.
