Tulungagung, E Java (ANTARA) - Five people were killed and 13 others were injured after a tour bus heading for Malang, East Java Province, was hit by Rapih Dhoho train at a railroad crossing with no gate in Ketanon Village, Tulungagung District on early Sunday.
Four passengers who sat in the back of the bus died at the scene, while one victim died at Dr. Iskak Hospital, Tulungagung Police Chief Senior Adjunct Commissioner Handono Subiakto said.
Harapan Jaya tour bus was hit in the back part by Rapih Dhoho train traveling from Tulungagung Station to Kediri, while the bus carrying 43 people tried to cross the railroad crossing which has no gate.
Subiakto said the the accident occurred at around 5 a.m. Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB) .

The ill-fated bus, together with two other Harapan Jaya tour buses, carried a plastic shop workers heading towards Malang for a recreation at the Jatim Park 5 tourist attraction.
The first bus passed the railroad cross safely. However, the second bus while trying to cross the railroad was hit at the back by the train which was coming from the south at a moderate speed, he said.
"It is suspected that the driver of the second bus lacked concentration while crossing the railroad, so the train hit the tail of the bus," the police officer said.
