APE is a form of acknowledgment of the commitment and role of local governments in efforts to realize gender equality and justice through a gender mainstreaming strategy (PUG).
Acting Head of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection Agency (Dinas PPKBPPPA) Hanti Wahyuningsih said this is the first time that HSS won the APE award with the category of Pratama.
This, she said, became a motivation for how to improve gender-responsive program activities in the future in an effort to realize gender justice and equality in HSS.

The APE 2020 awarding was attended virtually by the Assistant for Economics and Development Sasmi Rifani accompanied by the Head of Regional Development Planning, Research and Development Agency (Bappelitbangda) M. Arliyan Syahrial, and the acting Head of PPKBPPPA Agency.
