This is part of the Green Revolution Movement which is carried out in 13 districts and cities throughout the province.
In Tanah Bumbu, ironwood seedlings were planted around the city forest of Batulicin, Liang Bangkai Cave in Mentewe Sub-district, Teluk Kepayang Village in Kusan Hulu Sub-district, and at the camping village in Angsana Sub-district.
"As many as 1,000 tree seedlings is targeted to be planted in Tanah Bumbu," said Acting Secretary of Tanah Bumbu H. Ambo Sakka in Batulicin Monday.

The ironwood planting carried out simultaneously in all areas in South Kalimantan as an effort of reforestation. Ironwood or ulin is considered very good for long-term reforestation, better to hold water, and to prevent erosion and landslide, reducing global warming, and keep the climate stable.
"Let the whole community continue to instill awareness that every tree planted is a form of care of the environment. This is a way to maintain a better survival for our grandchildren in the future," said Ambo.
Head of Forest Protection of the Kusan Forest Management Unit (KPH) Dawan said that critical land in Tanah Bumbu reached 67,008 hectares.
