Banjarmasin South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Head of South Kalimantan Mining Agency H Kustono Widodo revealed that most of the holder of the Mining Business License (IUP) here have yet to implement reclamation.
"Of the hundreds of IUP holders in our province only about two percent are implementing reclamation," he
revealed to answer reporters questnions, after South Kalimantan DPRD plenary meeting in Banjarmasin on Thursday.
"While the holder of Work Agreement Coal Mining Business (PKP2B) whose licenses issued by the central government, are relatively better than IUP holder in carrying out reclamation, but still not up," he continued.
He stated , all mining companies operating in the province which consists of 13 districts/municipalities are obliged to perform post-mining reclamation.
"We will always conduct surveillance and checks, to what extent, the mining companies to comply with , such as
post-mining reclamation," he said.
"Against the mining companies that do not respect the provisions , they might be penalized, according to laws and regulations in force," said Kustono.
The factual quantity of IUP in South Kalimantan to be certified "Clear and Clean " (CNC) as many as 331 permits (data 2011) . Based on Data Mining Directorate General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources ( ESDM ) in 2011 , 331 IUP covers an area of ​​529,149 hectares (ha).
Meanwhile, in South Kalimantan there are 667 mining licenses, 19 of which form PKB2B , the remainder in the form of IUP issued by regional government.
