Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Banjarmasin Public Order Agency repatriates 21 of 30 vagrants and beggars or locally called gepeng to East Java Province through the Port of Trisakti.
Head of Public Order and Peace Society of the Banjarmasin Government, Apiluddin Noor, said on Sunday, the beggars and the homeless were from the result of the raid on Friday (16/2) night.
"From the raids we caught 73 bums and beggars, which consists of 30 people from Sumenep, East Java, the rest are of few areas in Kalimantan," he said added that the squashed will be sent home to their respective areas gradually, some were to East Java.
The cost of the return and meal during the shelter, said Apiluddin, taken from the proceeds belong to beggars seized by officers , who returned in the form of ticket and the cost of daily living.
"The money from the begging we took, then we return in the form of ticket and other beggars' needs, while in the shelter," he said.
The plan , he said , the raid will be continued , so as beggars and homeless people who had been in Banjarmasin growing number will disappear.
According to Apiluddin , Banjarmasin is considered as the paradise of beggars , because people are very quick to give mercy, so that from day to day, number of beggars is growing.
These conditions, he said, should be stopped, because it can lead to social unrest to cause public unrest. "We will immediately coordinate with the city government of Surabaya, related gepeng various problems that come from East Java," he said.
