Barabai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The District Government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) has budgeted Rp7 billion from the 2014 budget to support educational programs in the area.

HST Regent Harun Nurasid in Barabai on Monday said not much different from other development programs, child education programs also require attention, readiness, and a good response from various stakeholders in the community.

According to him , education is not only the responsibility of governments, but also the community and local organizations or institutions relevant to program activities.

"The district government had budgeted Rp7 billion from the budget last year, because we realized early age children should be taught to socialize, independent, and interact," he said.

These activities , he said , as the child's primary capital to enter the wider world , and therefore institutions such as early childhood, kindergarten or play group is a strategic role and should always be developed.

Head of HST Education Agency, HM Yusuf, said that educational institutions such as playgroups, early childhood education (PAUD) and kindergarten in the district continues to grow amounted to 1,058.
