Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - PT Sebuku Iron Lateritic Ores (SILO), in Kotabaru District began testing iron orerefining machine on first stage, by operating the engine to be heated.
Operational Manager PT SILO, Henry Yulianto accompanied by Human Resources Development Ketut ID Dharmaja, here Monday said first stage purification plant with an investment of 60 million U.S. dollars, went into operation in preparation for production.
"Starting Sunday (9/2), iron ore purification machines have been operated for heating," he said.
Ketut explained, since the operations of a first stage purification machine, then SILO will not sell mine output in the form of minerals anymore, but through purification as mentioned in Law No. 4 of 2009 on Mineral and Coal which takes effect per January 12, 2014.
"The first stage of refining have separated some elements and raise 10 percent of mine," he explained.
Separately, the Operations Manager of PT. SILO added, if the iron ore from the mine mouth whereof 40 percent-45 percent, after the first stage it has gone up 10 percent to 44-50 percent.
