Adaro Granted Balangan Disaster Response Equipment

Paringin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Balangan District Government was granted with disaster response equipment by the national coal mining company, PT Adaro Indonesia. 

According to Regent Sefek Effendi, the assistance provided complete with warehousing facilities. "The warehouse was built in the Subdistrict Juai, which is located close to the disaster-prone areas," he said in Paringin, Balangan capital, on Wednesday. 

Disaster response equipment supplied by PT Adaro Indonesia consists of two rubber boats, 15 pieces of a life jacket, one ambulance, building storage facilities and several other supporting equipment. 

Sefek Effendi said, the assistance given to the Disaster Response Team (Tagana) as the local organizer. "We expect Tagana to manage and care well, so all the equipment and facilities that have been granted can be optimally utilized as needed," he said. 

He said disaster response equipment assistance provided will strongly support the previous program, namely the establishment of "Disaster Preparedness Village" or Kampung Siaga Bencana which has been done in 2011.
