Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Tens of thousands of Intan Banjar Regional Water Company (PDAM)customers in Martapura and Banjarbaru now having trouble to get clean water at least in a week starting October 25.
Chief of General Section of PDAM Intan Banjar M Anwar here on Thursday said it happened because of the cleaning of Riam Kanan irrigation channels that its water is the company's main raw water source.
"The Fisheries Association are doing public service by cleaning for four days along the primary channel of irrigation to rid of weeds and other aquatic plants," he said, accompanied by Mahmud Mansyur, Head of Production of the company.
He said the primary irrigation canal cleaning impact on the decrease in the water level so it can not be taken and
processed for clean water by Water Treatment Plant (IPA) II Pinus for distribution to customers.
"Customers who will experience water supply disruption are in the main zone served by IPA II Pinus by the number of subscribers reached 25 thousand," he said.
The main zones in the city of Banjarbaru include North and South Banjarbaru, Guntung Payung, Guntung Manggis, Sungai Ulin, Sungai Besar, to the area of ​​Jalan Cempaka and Trikora in the suburbs.
While in Martapura include Martapura City, Dalam Pagar, Telok Selong, and partly of subdistrict Landasan Ulin Banjarbaru that clean water is still flowing from the IPA II Pinus.
