Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan said the construction of a railway line in Central and East Kalimantan has been in the planning of the Ministry of Transportation (MoT) to meet the regional land transport in Kalimantan.
The ministerial statement answering hopes of South Kalimantan Governor Rudy Ariffin on a railway linking Central, South East and West Kalimantan until Malaysia.
According to Mangindaan , when the railway line in the country has constructed, the next will be connectivity to foreign countries like Malaysia to be discussed further.
Railway development plan was submitted by Mangindaan after meeting with the transport ministers of four countries that joined the " BIMP - EAGA " namely Brunei Darussalama, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, in Banjarmasin Tuesday.
At a meeting of eight years of the BIMP-EAGA, ministry officials of four countries committed to provide a variety of facilities and services in order to improve the connectivity of air, sea and land transport.
The agreement was submitted by the transport ministry official of four countries respectively Indonesian represented by Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan, Brunei Darussalam represented by the Minister of Transport Dato Abdullah Bakar, Malaysia was represented by Vice Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi and from the Philippines by Jose Perpetuo M Lotilla.
In addition to the railway line, added the Minister, the MoT focusing on developing several airports in Indonesia are likely to be flown on an international flight. Such Syamsudinnoor Airport, which will be built more adequate, better facilities and infrastructure and the extent of its airports.
MoT is also focused on meeting the construction of the toll road to the airport as had been planned by the government of South Kalimantan. " Some areas plan such as toll road, I have comprehended and this will be supported," he said.
The development, he added, to comply cooperation with four countries for the connectivity needs of land, sea and air , which has now commenced. *** ***
