Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - The trial of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, which will be conducted in November 2022, will coincide with the G20 Summit, West Java Governor M. Ridwan Kamil has informed.
"In November 2022, during the G20 event, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway will start operating trials to raise the motivation that everything follows the process," Kamil said at Pakuan State Building in Bandung on Thursday.
After meeting the president director of the firm constructing the high-speed railway, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), Dwiyana S. Riyadi, Kamil said the project’s development is on target and has currently reached 80-percent completion.
In addition, PT KCIC has agreed that the initial operation will be carried out in June 2023.
At that time, people can try and use the high-speed rail, Kamil said.
"In November 2022, West Java residents can witness the fast train (running) back and forth on the tracks, which will be exhibited at the G20 event," he added.
According to the governor, some regions that have been affected by the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail must participate in helping find investors to advance the regions, especially Greater Bandung.

"Please note, this fast train has two functions. Firstly, as a means of transportation, (and) secondly, as a tool for regional growth. There will be (new) stations so that people can live in Walini or Tegalluar. Well, that option becomes possible," he said.
Meanwhile, PT KCIC president director Riyadi said that the tunnel installation is almost complete.
"(We) just need to finish the erection girder box. It has now crossed KM 145 in the direction towards Tegalluar, Cileunyi. (The construction) took a long time because there is a toll road below, so we had to be careful," he explained.
In addition to the erection girder box, the installation of train rails will use different techniques with the help of technology and machines, Riyadi highlighted.
