Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - City Government (Pemkot) of Banjarmasin would change the waste final dumps (TPA) to Waste Processing Station (SPA) in order to give scrapheap economic value.
To make it happen, it need an investments about Rp2,5 billion, for the purchase of machinery and waste sorting and packing. All are expected to be realized this year, said head of the Banjarmasin's Environment Body (BLHD), Drs Hamdi to the press in his office, Wednesday.
He said the next litter is no longer considered as the specter of a hassle but be a blessing that can provide added value both for society and local government.
Waste bank
Meanwile, the city government also programmed every villages in the city must have a minimum of waste bank location.
"If there are 52 villages in Banjarmasin, at least we will have 260 bank of trash in this town," said head of BLHD, who plan to realize the program this year.
So far, Banjarmasin has 18 trash banks that proved their impact on the cleanliness of the environment in which the waste bank has also been shown to provide additional income for local residents.
Through waste bank, every house supplied two types of plastic garbage bags (organic and non-organic) to be sorted and collected, and in time to be saved to the waste bank manager.
