Tanjung, (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - As from January to May 2013 there were 95 residents in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, afflicted by Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever  (DBD).

Disease Management Coordinator For Animal Bites of the Tabalong Health Agency, Wasul Falah, in Tanjung, Tabalong capital, said on Saturday that the number of dengue fever patients in January alone reached 49 people spread across nine subdistricts and three urban villages.

Although not found cases of DHF patients who died but local health authorities urge the public to remain together wary attack of dengue feverwhich cases continued to increase in Tabalong.

"Last year there were four people died due to dengue, so Tabalong status of outstanding conditions for dengue cases," said Wasul.

Based on the number of positive cases of dengue fever, most patients were in the Village Mabuun with a total of 30 people and in subdistrict Tanjung as many as 16 people. Including in villages Hikun with 10 people and in subdistricts Kelua found 9 people.

"Cases of dengue fever is prevalent in urban areas with population density and mobility of its citizens like in the Village Mabuun," added Wasul.

As an effort to reduce cases of dengue, Tabalong Health Office continues to provide socialization to the community to be able to implement a clean lifestyle including combat places a mosquito carrying dengue fever.

Of local health data, 2012 cases of dengue in Tabalong up to 181 people with four death cases.
