But we ask the neighborhood unit (RT) heads to record their new residents, so that they report in stages till to our agency,
Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of the Banjarmasin Population and Civil Registry Agency(Disdukcapil) Khairul Saleh said, the agency did not hold a civil registration drives  (or what called as operasi yustisi) on newcomers after the Idul Fitri 1440 Hijrah holidays.

"We do not hold the operation on newcomers until now, we did it last year," he said in Banjarmasin on Monday.

He reasoned there was no specific instructions for carrying out the operation from his superiors, including from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

"We are focused on improving services," he said.

He considered, the public awareness was very high to handling of the documents of residence and civil records.

"The first day to enter work and open this service is indeed not many who have come to our service, maybe two to three days will come, will be booming," said Khairul Saleh.

Because, he said, if the migrants did not submit of their population change of status and the like, it would harm themselves to deal later.

"It's for their benefit too," he explained.

He also considered that the drives to record immigrants without identity or those whose domicile outside Banjarmasin, did not show significant results.

"But we ask the neighborhood unit (RT) heads to record their new residents, so that they report in stages till to our agency," said Khairul Saleh.
