The Banjarmasin Water and Air Police Unit (Satpolairud) investigated the discovery of a male body floating on the Martapura River, precisely in the alley of the Docking Kapal Jalan Tembus Mantuil RT04, South Banjarmasin, Thursday morning.


The Head of Law Enforcement Unit of Satpolairud First Insp (Iptu) Selamat Riyadi here on Thursday said, initially the residents thought it was the animal carcass, after being approached, turned out that the float was the corpse of a man with a supine position without clothes and wearing black trousers.

"The identity of the victim is still unknown because when it was found the corpse did not wear clothes with the condition of the body already swollen," said the officer.

As soon as they knew it was the human body, he added, residents at the scene immediately reported it to the Banjarmasin Satpolairud.

"We together with the residents evacuated and took him to the morgue of Ulin General Hospital," he said.

From the results of the interim examination, he added, no signs of violence were found on the body.
