At the launch of the Disaster Alert Village, a disaster management simulation was carried out, in collaboration with the surrounding community and Disaster Response Team (Tagana) in Balangan.

Thus, at any time they are ready to face disasters considering that South Kalimantan is an area prone to flooding and landslides.

"The most important thing is the preparedness of the people themselves to deal with various symptoms of natural disasters, so that they do not panic when there is a flood or landslide. They know where to establish communication and service which should be involved," he said.

Head of the Balangan Disaster Mitigation Agency Alive Yoesfah Love said, there were two villages declared as disaster response and alert, namely Disaster Response Village in Trans Lajar Papuyuan Village, Lampihong Subdistrict, which was assisted by Balangan BPBD. While the Disaster Preparedness Village of Galumbang Village is under the auspices of the Balangan Social Agency.

"Juai Subdistrict is a basin or lowland area. When the intensity of the rain is quite high, river water from the mountainous regions in Halong Subdistrict overflows. The water level varies from one to two meters more," he said.

This condition certainly requires the participation of all levels of society and volunteers, especially the related agencies, thus the Disaster Preparedness Village and Disaster Response Villages are formed in the affected areas.
