The domestic waste treatment plant PD Ipal socialized sanitation and how it works in handling of domestic wastewater to residents of South Banjarmasin.


Director of the company, Rahmatullah, said the dissemination was specifically for residents of neighborhood unit (RT) 1, 2, 3, and 4 in Kelayan Barat Urban Village, South Banjarmasin.

The reason was they will be impacted by the low-cost rental apartment (rusunawa) project and all at once the PD Ipal project to install its wastewater treatment installation.

Rahmatullah pointed out that the city government-owned company will continue the project to lay down pipes after it received IDR 8 billions of state budget fund from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

Not only of PD Ipal. Sourcepersons from Health Agency, PUPR's Kotaku (city with no slum) program,  and the environmentalis Forum Komunitas Hijau (FKH)  also gave presentation which was attended by about 70 residents.

Uncle Anum from FKH, for instance, spoke about how the city in need of sanitation to make it clean and comfortable. Without it the city will be dirty and is considered as incapable of handling urban planning systems.

Here FKH plays it role to support the government in making the city clean and comfortable, while inviting people to do the same together hand by hand.
