With a face full of emotion Slamet Giarso (55), a resident of Hayub Village RT3 in Haruai Subdistrict, received symbolically the key to the house which was handed over by Deputy Regent Tabalong Mawardi at the closing ceremony of TNI Manunggal Membangun Desaon Wednesday (27/3).

This key handover marked the end of the implementation of a non-habitable home rehabilitation program at the 104th TMMD location in Hayub Village.

Slamet, who works daily as a rubber farmer, was grateful to be one of the residents who received a non-habitable home rehabilitation program carried out by the Kodim (Military Command) 1008 Tanjung through TMMD.

Slamet said his former house was not feasible before being rehabilitated by the TMMD task force. Besides being unhealthy, there is no room, no kitchen, and watery when rain. The foundation was decayed, till the house's position was tilted.

Slamet's house was the most severe among three houses were rehabilated during TMMD. The main pillar of the building had to be replaced.

But now Slamet and his wife live in a more decent, comfortable and healthy home thanks to the care of members of the TMMD task force. His house has one bedroom and the condition is more suitable as a shelter.

Two other residents, Ngademi and Erhamsyah, felt the same happiness because they had long wanted to renovate their house but were constrained by funds.

"We are very grateful to be able to have a decent home thanks to the house surgical program from Kodim 1008 Tanjung," said Erhamsyah.

The Haruai Rayon Military Commander Captain Inf Pasidi said that the house surgery program could help residents get decent housing.

"Thanks to the support of the residents, the task force members were able to complete the rehabilitation of three uninhabitable houses," Pasidi explained.

Commander (Dandim) 1008 Tanjung Letkol Arm Eddy Susanto said the rehabilitation of non-habitable homes was an additional activity in the 104th TMMD.

"There are six physical target packages that we can complete 100 percent, including other additional activities," explained Eddy.

Other additional activities include renovating Tunas Bhakti Kindergarten and Mushala At Taqwa fences in Hayub Village, Haruai Sub-district.

The TNI service was held from 26 February until 27 March, 2019 involving 150 members of the TMMD task force with funding from the 2019 Tabalong Regional Budget (Rp1.6 billion) and the budget of the Army Headquarters (Rp367.5 million).

In addition to building village facilities and infrastructure, the presence of task force members has a positive impact on fostering a spirit of mutual cooperation and togetherness for residents of Hayub Village.

Hayub Village Chief Suwito said that through TMMD this year poor people who do not have a decent house can have a more comfortable place to live. Including motivating citizens to work together to participate in helping the development carried out by TNI members.

"Residents are very grateful to the task force members because in addition to helping with village development, they also provide additional insights," Suwito explained.

Providing insight through non-physical activities in the form of radicalism detering to socialize the dangers of drug use for students.

The 104th TMMD non-physical activity in the form of uninhabited home rehabilitation helped support the central government's program in efforts to fulfill basic needs for the poor in the district.

Even this year the Ministry of Social Affairs provided assistance to rehabilitate non-habitable homes for 100 poor people in Tabalong District.

Head of Social Service Tabalong Yuhani said that rehabilitation of 100 uninhabitable homes began this year in 121 villages.
