Slamet said his former house was not feasible before being rehabilitated by the TMMD task force. Besides being unhealthy, there is no room, no kitchen, and watery when rain. The foundation was decayed, till the house's position was tilted.
Slamet's house was the most severe among three houses were rehabilated during TMMD. The main pillar of the building had to be replaced.
But now Slamet and his wife live in a more decent, comfortable and healthy home thanks to the care of members of the TMMD task force. His house has one bedroom and the condition is more suitable as a shelter.
Two other residents, Ngademi and Erhamsyah, felt the same happiness because they had long wanted to renovate their house but were constrained by funds.
"We are very grateful to be able to have a decent home thanks to the house surgical program from Kodim 1008 Tanjung," said Erhamsyah.
The Haruai Rayon Military Commander Captain Inf Pasidi said that the house surgery program could help residents get decent housing.
