Regent South Hulu Sungai (HSS) H Achmad Fikry officially opened a million book exhibition and bazaar on the Kandangan basketball court.


He said, his government through the Library and Archives Office held an exhibition and bazaar in order residents could obtain books at affordable prices. He invited his citizens to take this chance to encourage their enthusiasm and love reading more.

"We ask the Education Agency that there is supervision to the reading power of the students, which can be seen from the books they buy in this bazaar," he said in his speech on Wednesday (3/27) afternoon.

He hopes this bazaar can provide great benefits for the District Government and the HSS community.

He also hopes that later in each SKPD (government office) there will be a reading corner that the government employees can use it to read newspaper or useful books.

While currently the HSS Government has implemented an Al-Qur'an reading program every morning for the state civil apparatus (ASN).

Head of the Library and Archives Office Tajidinnor thanked the HSS Regent in particular, because of so far has been very supportive of policies in the library sector.

Likewise to the Library and Archives Office of South Kalimantan which always gives great attention to the progress of the library in HSS.

A Million Books Exhibition and Bazaar will last for ten days from March 27 to April 5, 2019, held by the Library and Archives Office in collaboration with the Jogja Publisher Consortium.

The Regent together with the Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad, DPRD speaker H. Ahmad Fahmi, the District Leadership Coordination Forum and Acting Secretary H. Hubriansyah broke the "Jug of Stupidness" marking the opening of the exhibition.
