The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) Representatives of Kalimantan and Sulawesi made an honorary visit to the Regent of Tabalong while delivering on the achievements of 2018 and the 2019 target.

SKK Migas Kalimantan and Sulawesi representatives Faizal Abdi said the task force needs the support of local governments to realize the oil production target in Tabalong.

"We expect the acceleration of the licensing process and land acquisition to support oil exploration activities in Tabalong," Faizal explained.

In the Tanjung working area, the plan is to drill one new oil well, and five injection wells with advanced technology Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and 220 wells treatment.

Faizal also explained the achievement of 2018 national oil production around 96 percent of the target of 1.917 billion barrels per day.

This year's oil and gas lifting target is 2,025 billion barrels per day, while the oil production target in Tabalong is only 2,544 barrels per day.

Field Manager of PT Pertamina EP Asset 5 Tanjung Zulfikar Akbar said that Pertamina is currently striving to increase oil production by optimizing old wells in the region.

"At present, oil production per day is around 2,623 barrels and Pertamina continues to strive to increase production," Zulfikar explained.

The meeting with SKK Migas was also attended by Asset 5 Legal & Relations Manager Anton Sumartono Raharjo and PT Pertamina EP Aset 5 Tanjung public relations staff.

Tabalong Regent Anang Syakhfiani expressed his support regarding licensing and the land acquisition process conducted by Pertamina.

"We just found out that oil production in Tabalong is less than 3,000 barrels per day and hopes that Pertamina's efforts to increase production can be successful," explained Anang, who was accompanied by Head of Bappeda Mahdi Noor and Assistant for Development and Natural Resources Hamida Munawarah.
