Tanjung, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - PT Adaro Indonesia in collaboration with the Tabalong Vocational Training Center (BLK) held a competency-based training program for village communities in the mining operations closest to the company.


According to Adaro CSR Department Head Leni Marlina, this kind of program is expected to be able to provide significant benefits to prospective workers, especially in a very open labor competition situation nowadays.

"With the competencies plus later following a certified competency test, the participant's skills will be recognized nationally," Leni explained.

Participants will have employment opportunities in the company, while entrepreneurship is another option that allows for incentive income.

The program was attended by 16 selected youth from Taniran Village, Gudang Seng Village, Bagok Village, and Banyu Landas Village (East Barito, Central Kalimantan).

Adaro also poured funds worth Rp120 million for the implementation of this competency-based training.

Leni added that participants with elementary or junior high school education backgrounds would also be assisted to get a higher education diploma.

Head of the Manpower Office Syaiful Ikhwan explained that human resource development is one of the government's focuses, including through vocational education or skills.
