Martapura, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) designated Tunggul Hirang Hilir Village in Martapura Kota Subdistrict, Banjar District, as village clean from narcotics and dangerous drugs (abbreviated as Bersinar).
    

The inauguration of the Bersinar Village was conducted by the Head of the BNN Commissioner General Heru Winarko on Thursday, accompanied by South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor and Deputy Regent of Banjar Saidi Mansyur.
 
"The rise of drug use among the people from the lower, middle and upper classes has made the government through the National Narcotics Agency take preventative steps through bersinar villages," he said
   
He pointed out, it is time for all elements of society to unite in combating the spread and use of drugs, because it caused many problems in the community.
     
In addition to destroying the order of life of the people and the cause of disturbances in order and security, drugs are very damaging to the mentality of the younger generation who are expected to be the successor of the nation.
   
"Our hope is the establishment of clean villages will make our nation free from drug trafficking and abuse, thus the next generation of the nation can be saved," he said.
     
Governor Sahbirin Noor hopes the establishment of a drug clean village in the Banjar District can prevent drug trafficking and abuse.
    
"South Kalimantan, including Banjar Regency, is very strategically located as an entry point for drugs, both from land, sea and air, and through bersinar villages it is expected that circulation will decrease," he said.
   
While the Deputy Regent of Banjar Saidi Mansyur was very grateful for the inauguration of the village to shine and hoped he could become an example for other villages that declared war on drugs.
