"We are targeting by 2022 there will no longer be a disadvantaged village," said Regent Hj Noormiyani AS in Marabahan on Monday.
According to her, in an effort to get these villages out of the category of underdeveloped villages, in 2018 the district government has implemented a special program for the Kuala Lupak Village, Tabunganen Subdistrict.
In 2019 the same program will be carried out again for nine villages in several sub-districts and the remainder in stages until 2022.
Related to urban improving efforts, the first female regent in South Kalimantan hoped that there would be holistic and integrated planning because so far the planning made was still considered partial.
For the short term, all parties concerned prioritize town structuring at points that still look unsightly.
"Organizing the city is not only building parks, but it must be integrated with a child-friendly program and pedestrian facilities, such as sidewalks, and other urban areas," she said.
She also asked the ranks of the Batola Government to pay more attention to community service by being present in every line of life of the community and ready to provide services.
She reminded that based on the 2018 Ombudsman's assessment, Batola is one of six regencies in South Kalimantan have not met public service standards.
