Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The central government through the Community Training Center (Balatmas) continues to encourage the growth of the village-owned enterprises (BUMdes) to support the growth of the village economy through the efforts of rural communities.


Head of Balatmas Banjarmasin Pepen Ependi here Monday said to support the establishment of BUMdes, in 2019 this office held training for BUMDs in all regions of Kalimantan.

In January 2019, the first and second batches of training were conducted for BUMDes from Tabalong and Balangan Districts, with 80 participants.

From Tabalong, among others from villages in Tanta, Jaro, Muara Harus and Kelua Subdistricts. Whereas from Balangan are villages from Awayan and several other sub-districts.

"Five villages are represented by five people, so the total for two is 80 people," he said.

At present, he added, about 70 percent of villages in South Kalimantan already have BUMDes, as village-owned businesses to increase community economic growth, with funds from village funds.

Through BUMdes, it is expected that all community needs, especially basic needs, such as sugar, oil, rice and others, can be fulfilled by the people themselves, so that the village economy can truly live.

"So the village community's money revolves in the village, and the benefits can be utilized as much as possible for the village," he said.

In 2019, he added, it was targeted that 1,554 BUMDes had received business management, business development, and other administrative training.

Previously, at the opening of the BUMdes training at the Banjarmasin Balatmas on Saturday (1/19), Secretary of the Village Ministry's Research and Development, Education and Training (PDTT) Jajang Abdullah said, nationally the government targeted all villages or around 74,000 more villages in Indonesia has a BUMDes.

President Joko Widodo, he said, hoped that all relevant ministries would focus on developing villages, so that village money actually revolves in the village, thus the village economic growth runs faster.

All village development projects and programs are carried out by the village community until the level of village welfare can also grow along with the opening of jobs
