Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Expert Staff of the Indonesian District Administration Association (Apkasi) Himmatul Hasanah said the teaching staff must receive intensive attention and guidance until the process of transferring knowledge in schools is good.


According to her, improving the quality of education is a strategic program for the region, moreover one of the many problems that continue to become the government's homework is the equal distribution of the quality of education.

"Education is very fundamental in determining the future of the nation and a strong foundation in the midst of fierce regional and global competition," she said.

"If we talk about the quality of teachers, we are in the rank of 160 out of 170 countries," said Himmatul during an audience and socialization of the education quality improvement program from Apkasi last Saturday in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan.

As a partner of the district government, she said, Apkasi certainly needs to provide input and alternatives in building the world of education in the region, one of which is in terms of teaching methods.

"During the last three years Apkasi has been present among teachers by providing workshops to improve competencies for about 130 thousand teachers in 140 districts," said Himmatul.

The number is strived to continue to increase to 300 thousand-500 thousand teachers with the support of various parties.

In addition to teacher competency, during this time Apkasi also paid attention to various issues in the world of education, such as the low welfare of honorary teachers and the rampant criminalization of teachers.
