Rantau, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - In an effort to reduce plastic waste in the school environment, three schools in Tapin District oblige school residents to bring environmentally friendly bottles to school.

The Head of the Environmental Control and Pollution Division of Tapin Environmental Agency Hj Rina Indriani in Rantau said the three schools are MAN 1 Tapin, SMAN 1 Tapin and elementary school SDN Rantau Kiwa 1 .

"After we conducted socialization on the use of environmentally friendly bottles in Adiwiyata schools, it turned out that three schools responded and committed to implementing them," she said.

Rina explained, the three schools that had been willing to commit would sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Environmental Agency.

"At the MoU later, we will also provide environmentally friendly drinking bottles to the school," she explained.

Rina said, carrying environmentally friendly bottles is one of the efforts to reduce waste in schools which certainly has a positive impact on the environment.

"We can imagine every day how many hundred bottles are wasted around us. We certainly know that plastic bottles are very difficult to be broken down by the soil (non-degradable), so they can damage the environment," she said.
