Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Kotabaru Population and Civil Registry Agency (Disdukcapil) stopped the service for recording identity data and printed resident electronic ID cards (KTP-el) on Saturday and Sunday.

"There are a number of things that are taken into consideration why the ID card service was stopped," said Head of Disdukcapil Ahmad Fitriadi in Kotabaru, Thursday.

Recording and printing services for KTP-el on weekends have been running from September to December 2018.

During that four-month period, there were around 2,700 residents have been served. However, this number is considered to be insignificant when compared to the results of direct services to sub-districts.

"At the end of last year, we carried out direct services simultaneously in 21 sub-districts. The results for the five days the community could be served reached 1,700 people," said Fitriadi.

In terms of time, financing, and others, picking up services are considered more effective and efficient. For people in far-away sub-districts, it will be more economical because there is no need to go to the district capital.

"So we change the service from Saturday to Sunday by providing a pick-up service," he continued.

In 2019 more direct services to sub-districts are programmed so that data records and KTP-el printing can be completed before the April elections.
